Please take note of the most recent amendment to the
Employment Equity Act
and role of the HPCSA in the certification of psychological tests. COMPINDEX is
currently implicated as it was not developed to be a psychological test. It
is currently unclear how the act will be implemented, as according to the
Health Professions Act the HPCSA only has the mandate to regulate
psychological tests. We are aware of interest groups that are
working
towards following legal processes to temporary set aside the clause until
such time that clarity is obtained on the issue. To be on the safe side
currently and until such time the amendment is set aside or clarity is obtained
on the mandate and role of legal entities that should enforce the act, further
use of the instrument should be reconsidered as it may constitute a
transgression of the act. Rather contact
